AT Simulations’ An-28 is coming to MSFS 2024 in October
Microsoft and AT Simulations have announced the Antonov AN-28 as the next Local Legend for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The aircraft was revealed during the developer livestream on September 16 and is scheduled for October 2026, alongside World Update 23: Poland and The Baltics.
Local Legends is Microsoft’s official series of aircraft that played a special role in the aviation history of a particular country or region.
What’s inside:
- more than 10 liveries (paint schemes);
- multiple cabin options;
- authentically modeled systems;
- developed by AT Simulations, the team behind the An-2 for MSFS.
A bit of history: the An-28 is a light twin-turboprop from the Antonov design bureau, built for short and unpaved runways (a STOL aircraft, short take-off and landing). The first prototype flew in 1969, and the aircraft was series-produced in Poland at PZL Mielec, so releasing it together with the Poland update makes perfect sense.
Price and availability: the aircraft will be sold through the in-sim Marketplace. The exact release date and price haven’t been announced yet, and it’s not yet confirmed whether it will be available on Xbox and PS5.
Who it’s for: simmers who enjoy low-and-slow flying, short regional hops and small airfields. It’s also a rare chance to fly a Ukrainian-designed aircraft from Kyiv’s Antonov bureau in the sim. We’ll update you as soon as the date and price are announced.
