Stratoware announces the Mi-8T helicopter for MSFS

Stratoware Mi-8T helicopter render

Stratoware has announced the Mi-8T for MSFS, the classic version of the Soviet-designed Mi-8 helicopter. The project was shown at FSimUK 2026 in Bristol, and the studio posted the first renders on 12 October. There is no release date: the developers say they will take as long as it needs.

For Ukrainian simmers this one hits close to home, since the Mi-8 still flies in Ukraine and plenty of people have seen one up close. Stratoware is best known for the MBB Bo 105 for MSFS 2024, built together with Miltech Simulations. The Mi-8T is at a very early stage: in the renders, only the nose landing gear is textured so far.

What’s inside:

  • a 3D model built from real-world 3D scans and thousands of photos, made with Aviation Capture;
  • three days spent documenting a retired Mi-8 at a former East German airbase;
  • a focus on flight dynamics and systems, with input from real pilots and technical documentation;
  • at least three cabin layouts: VIP, passenger and medical evacuation.

Also from Stratoware: the French four-seat Rallye Commodore (first on wheels and floats, with military and taildragger versions later) and the West German Bo 207, aimed at early 2027. The Kitfox Speedster is getting a native MSFS 2024 version, and the Bo 105 has update 1.0.4 on the way. No prices have been given, and the studio hasn’t said which MSFS version the new aircraft are for.
