Who we are
VEKTARO (vektaro.in.ua) is a Ukrainian flight simulation portal. The site is run by the owner of the VEKTARO project. For questions about your data write to contact@vektaro.in.ua.
In short
- there is no registration, and we do not ask your name to use the tools;
- your settings are kept in your browser, not on our side;
- Google services are turned on only after you agree, and you can take the consent back at any time;
- we do not sell your data.
What data we process
Server logs. The host automatically records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and browser details. The logs are needed to run and protect the site and are kept for a limited time.
What you type into the tools. Searches, airport codes and calculator values are processed on our server only to show the result and are not linked to you.
SimBrief briefing. When you enter a SimBrief username, our server asks SimBrief for your latest flight plan in order to show it. A copy is kept for a few minutes and then disappears. Anyone who knows the link with the username can open that briefing page.
"My flights". When you enter a VATSIM ID, our server asks VATSIM for the public statistics of that ID. A copy is kept for about ten minutes. We do not show names.
The "Share" form. We keep what you send: the name, link, description, screenshot, and your name or callsign and contact if you gave them. Only the administrator sees the contact. After a check only the name, the screenshot and your credit may appear on the site. We strip camera data from the screenshot file. To limit spam the server remembers a scrambled fingerprint of your IP address for one hour. What you send is kept until we review it; what we decline is deleted. You can ask us to delete your suggestion at any time.
E-mails and messages. If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply.
VATSIM and IVAO network data. The map and the lists of pilots and controllers show the public data of these networks: callsigns, routes, aircraft positions. If you fly online, your flight is visible here too. We neither show nor store the names of pilots and controllers. Recorded flight tracks are removed about half an hour after the flight ends.
Cookies and browser storage
- pll_language: a cookie that remembers the site language for a year. Necessary for the site to work;
- the browser's local storage: light or dark theme, the menu state, the chosen network, favourite airports and routes, your SimBrief username, your VATSIM ID, calculator settings and your cookie choice. This stays on your device only and is erased when you clear the site data in your browser;
- site administrators get WordPress login cookies;
- Google Analytics (the _ga cookie and similar, up to two years): only after you agree. It helps us see which pages are visited, without names or contacts;
You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.
Third-party services
- Hosting: uahosting.com.ua; according to the host, the servers are in Germany (EU);
- OpenStreetMap: map tiles load into your browser straight from OpenStreetMap servers, so they see your IP address;
- RainViewer: the rain layer on the traffic map loads from their servers;
- Google: Analytics and advertising, only after consent. Google may process data outside Ukraine and the EU;
- NOAA, Open-Meteo, VATSIM, IVAO, SimBrief: our server makes these requests, so they do not receive your IP address;
- the fonts and the map library are hosted on our server and do not contact other sites;
- external links (Telegram, SimBrief, ChartFox, developer sites and add-on shops) lead to sites with their own rules.
On what basis
Analytics, advertising and publishing what you send happen only with your consent. Server logs and spam protection are needed to keep the site running safely. Data you type into the tools is processed to carry out your request.
Your rights
You can ask what data of yours we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and take back your consent. Write to us: contact@vektaro.in.ua. You also have the right to contact the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or, if you are in the EU, the data protection authority of your country.
Children
The site does not knowingly collect children's data. If a child sent us something through the form, a parent can ask us to delete it.
Changes
When the site gets a feature that touches your data, we update this page and the date at the top.
