BlueBird Simulations will release its Boeing 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator on 23 October, with Just Flight as publisher. The project has been four years in the making, and ahead of launch the studio has put out its full 357-page Master Manual. BlueBird’s website lists it at $80 USD.

The first release is the 757-200 with both engine options, the Rolls-Royce RB211 and the Pratt & Whitney PW2000. It is built on the MSFS 2020 SDK and runs in MSFS 2024. Owners will later get a native MSFS 2024 version and the stretched 757-300 (MSFS 2024 only) as free additions.

What’s inside:

  • a custom FMC with LNAV/VNAV (lateral and vertical navigation), Navigraph data and SimBrief import;
  • deep systems: hydraulics with a RAT (ram air turbine), electrics with load shedding, pneumatics, APU, fuel and fire protection;
  • 200 working circuit breakers and simulated CRT displays;
  • Hoppie ACARS and an EFB with ground services, weight and balance and cockpit state presets;
  • a flight model that, according to the developers, was tested by real 757 pilots.

The manual covers normal, abnormal and supplemental procedures, plus ACARS and the EFB. It is already available on the BlueBird Simulations Discord (discord.gg/bluebirdsim).

The first videos are already out: streamer MrSaturday has posted a full look at the 757 in MSFS 2024 on YouTube (watch), and BlueBird itself covers the development in its own video. It’s a good way to see the cockpit and systems in action before you buy.

In the same video, BlueBird covered its post-launch plans. The 757-200 will be the studio’s last aircraft for MSFS 2020, and the 757-300 will be built natively for MSFS 2024. The aircraft has more than 200 failures, down to annunciator bulbs, and over 1,500 hours went into tuning the flight model. After launch, the team will watch feedback and release fixes.

How to get ready: read the manual before launch, and you’ll be able to fly a full trip from cold and dark to the gate on day one without guesswork.
