MOZA is making an Airbus captain’s sidestick: meet the left-handed MA3F

MOZA MA3X Airbus-style sidestick for the right seat

MOZA brought its MA3F sidestick to the FSIM UK show in Bristol. It’s a left-handed version of the company’s Airbus sidestick, built for the captain’s seat. The stick is licensed by Airbus and works with MOZA’s bases. No price or release date has been given yet.

The current MA3X only comes in the first officer version, held in the right hand. That has left anyone who wants to fly the A320 or A380 from the left seat, like a real captain, using a mirrored setup. MA3F prototypes have already appeared at FSWeekend and FlightSimExpo this year.

What we know:

  • pitch and roll axes, with twist available if your base supports it;
  • swappable magnetic palm rests, one with a D-pad and one with a thumb rest;
  • a trigger on the back, which on a real Airbus is the radio transmit switch;
  • two small side buttons for extra bindings, replacing the unrealistic switch on the MA3X;
  • an Airbus logo on the palm rest.

FSElite, who got hands-on with it, questioned how comfortable it is to reach the side buttons with your index finger without letting go of the stick.

What’s next: according to MOZA’s representative, a formal announcement and release are coming “soon”. If you’re planning a two-seat setup, or simply want to fly from the left seat, the MA3F is worth waiting for.
