Deltawing ATR 72-600 in X-Plane 12

Deltawing Simulations has announced that its ATR 72-600 for X-Plane 12 will be released on 27 October 2026. The exact time and the price will follow later. The studio shared the date on Facebook on 13 October.

The ATR 72-600 is a European twin-engine turboprop built for short and medium regional routes, often into small airfields. Deltawing first proposed the project back in 2023, and in April 2026 it said most of the systems were done and the team was polishing the cockpit and exterior.

What’s promised

The developers call their ATR “a study level product in all aspects”, meaning everything is simulated in full depth. The key point is that it doesn’t rely entirely on X-Plane’s default models:

  • custom engine, electrical, hydraulic and anti-ice models;
  • a custom autopilot;
  • an MCDU (the unit used to enter the route and manage the flight);
  • cockpit displays with their own logic, plus weather and terrain radar;
  • a custom sound set.

Price and availability

No price or store has been announced yet. The aircraft is for X-Plane 12 only, and we should learn the price and where to buy it before or on release day.

Who it’s for

The ATR has company in X-Plane: SkyCatsLab is working on its own ATR 72-600, and Mango Studios on an ATR 72-500. For X-Plane pilots who enjoy short regional hops, this is one of the most interesting releases of the autumn. We’ll be back once the price is out.
